Children aren't just the future of the church, they are the church.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our children’s ministry is committed to creating a welcoming, respectful, and joyful community in which every child is recognized as a beloved child of God. We trust that children possess meaningful insight, inner wisdom, and a natural capacity for spiritual growth.
We seek to understand their behavior and emotions with curiosity and compassion, offering the most generous interpretation of their actions. We welcome their questions, energy, laughter, movement, and participation while providing the healthy limits they need to feel safe and supported. Through encouragement, positive relationships, and genuine belonging, we want every child to know: You are welcome here, exactly as you are.
Guided by the United Church of Christ’s belief that “God is still speaking,” we seek to teach children how to think rather than what to think. We introduce them to the Bible and the life and teachings of Jesus while encouraging them to ask questions, consider different perspectives, and listen for how God may continue to speak through Scripture, their experiences, other people, and the world around them.
Our goal is not to give children a rigid set of answers, but to help them develop curiosity, compassion, courage, and a faith that continues to grow with them.
TWO GUIDING COMMITMENTS
Every child is worthy of respect and belonging.
We approach children with warmth, curiosity, and generosity. We assume that behavior communicates a need, welcome children’s authentic participation, and balance joyful inclusion with healthy boundaries.
Faith welcomes questions.
We help children engage thoughtfully with the Bible and the teachings of Jesus. Rather than telling them exactly what they must think, we nurture their ability to ask questions, discern meaning, consider different perspectives, and listen for the ways God is still speaking.
CHILDREN'S CHURCH
Each Sunday, right before the sermon, children are invited to participate in Children's Church and enjoy an interactive Bible lesson and activity for kids. This special time helps children learn about God’s love in a way that’s engaging, age-appropriate, and creative. Parents can remain in worship knowing their kids are growing in faith and having fun with friends.

Director of Children's Ministry
Amanda is passionate about helping children grow in their faith and experience God's love in meaningful ways. She is a clinical psychologist with more than 18 years of experience working with children and families, bringing both professional expertise and a heart for ministry to her role.
